Annie Houldsworth Hodgkinson (1885-1982)
Photo taken ca.1920. Annie's was the eldest daughter of Henry Houldsworth (see Shawls & Falls). She was born in New Basford, but for most of her early years the family lived in Hucknall in Cavendish Villas on Portland Street. Annie's mother died when she was only 17 and, as eldest daughter, she was left to raise her younger brothers and sisters. In 1908 she married Horace Hodgkinson and they had one daughter, Gwendolyn. By 1912 the couple had emigrated to the USA and eventually settled in Connecticut.

Elizabeth, Alice and Hannah Tudor(left to right)
Photo taken early 20th century. The Tudor or Toader sisters were the daughters of William and Sarah Tudor, and part of a large extended Hucknall family that included the Notts cricketers Arthur Wright and Thomas Shooter. Elizabeth was the eldest and Alice the youngest of the sisters. Elizabeth is also pictured in the Wood Lane photo in the introduction to this section. Alice married John Bond from Bagthorpe and they lived in West Terrace, Hucknall. They had eight sons and a daughter with two other daughters dying in infancy. Six of Alice's sons fought in WW1 and all survived.
